Metallurgy Research Group Receives a TCIP Grant
SolaPur LLC, a company started by Dr. Krista Carlson and Jeffery Huber, received a
Technology Commercialization & Innovation Program (TCIP) grant from the Utah Governor's Office of Economic Development. The TCIP Program
was created "to accelerate the commercialization of promising technologies that have
strategic value for Utah. The end goal of the TCIP Program is to help drive economic
development and job creation." The team presented a business plan for a device that
uses photocatalysis to kill waterborne pathogens. Dr. Swomitra Mohanty and Metallurgy
undergraduate Casey Elliott have also joined the team to help with material optimization
